About

What is NOF?

NOF is a 501(c)3 non-profit, charitable organization focused on providing you with reliable and actionable information about cancer. Our goal is to optimize your health, regardless of where you are on the cancer continuum by teaching, informing and inspiring you.

Our primary areas of focus include:

  • What you can to do prevent cancer
  • The best ways to get you through surgery and treatment
  • How you can lower your risk of recurrence

Why NOF?

Naturopathic doctors have always been at the forefront of advocating for health and wellness. We are uniquely trained to understand all facets of cancer care, from conventional to alternative.  There is an immense amount of misinformation out there and we hope to serve as a place for evidence-informed decision making regarding all things cancer related.

As an all-volunteer board of naturopathic physicians, we’re dedicated to providing you and your medical team with evidence guided and informed knowledge, in the naturopathic and integrative treatments relevant in oncology, through access to and awareness of the most recent publications, lectures, research and multimedia.

How does NOF provide information?

The bulk of our information is disseminated through social media sites, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. This website houses the summary information and links to our social media sites as well.

Where does NOF get its evidence?

Under the "Resources" page you will see some examples of where you too can find reliable information. Natural medicine used in cancer care is not based on belief or traditions but on evidence found in the medical literature. This surprises some, but our resources are the same as any conventional doctor's, mostly PubMed and Embase.

We also use other resources to create timely and relevant updates, such as the Oncology Association of Naturopathic Providers.

How does NOF fund itself?

Through generous donations we are able to provide this resource free of charge and without commercial bias. If you would like to support our ongoing efforts to bring naturopathic medicine to the masses, please hit the “donate” button at the top of the page. Every dollar will go towards creating and maintaining content to help educate, inform and inspire.

We welcome your feedback, just hit the "Contact" link above to send us any ideas, comments, questions or to volunteer for this cancer charity. We would love to hear from you!
